It’s another year and Coachella has come and gone. It’s still definitely on my bucket list to make it there at some point, but just because I didn’t go to Coachella doesn’t mean I can’t dress like it! I’ve been obsessed with the “festival” look for years now. My style is constantly evolving and although I don’t find myself reaching for the bohemian pieces that I used to, I still have such a soft spot for the free spirited style!
For today’s post, my best friend and I put together some festival inspired looks that aren’t too over the top. They’re something you could definitely wear to a music festival but also just out and about!
This first outfit was super fun to wear! I’ll admit, I’m a little self conscious and don’t usually opt for outfits that show too much skin, especially my midriff. I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone a little, though, and work on feeling more confident in my skin! This outfit also seemed perfect for the desert heat, as you can easily take off this denim jacket to keep cool.
Speaking of the jacket, how cool is it?? The bohemian chic design on the back and eclectic mix of pins on the front just scream festival. I loved finishing the look with this red bandana tied around my neck. Such a fun pop of color!
Fun fact, this dress is the one I wore to my bridal shower over a year ago! It’s been sitting in the back of my closet ever since because I wasn’t sure what to do with it. We pulled it out and decided to re-style it with more of a bohemian vibe and it turned out perfect.
This hat really helped pull the look together. It’s pretty new and I’ve already worn it so many times! It goes with so many things and is perfect for the Spring and Summer.
I’d like to mention that I am absolutely obsessed with these photos. I love how all of the colors worked so well together! My best friend is amazing. You have to check out her photography! (http://mikylahraelene.com/)
This last outfit is definitely the easiest to recreate for everyday wear. You just need an oversized top with a whimsical pattern, some denim shorts, and the accessories of your choice!
I went with a fun layered necklace and a wide brim hat.
Make sure to tuck that shirt in for a “cool girl” vibe and you’re good to go! Bonus: a fabulous pair of shoes. I picked these ones up at a second hand store and I wear them all the time!
