Trend Talk: Button Front Skirt

Hey everyone! I’ve been browsing through Pinterest a lot recently and have noticed quite a few variations of a button front skirt. I’ve been very inspired by the way I’ve seen them styled and started looking more into them. By varying the amount of layers you wear, the piece seems perfect for all four seasons. It would make a particularly good transition item for fall. You could wear it warmer, with tights and a jacket, or cooler, with just a short sleeve shirt. The skirt comes in different lengths, from mini to midi, is available at many different price points, and can be found in many different fabrics such as various washes of denim, or colored suede.

Below are some of my favorite looks.

The first look is by Danielle Bernstein of WeWoreWhat. The skirt she’s wearing is from Top Shop and features this beautiful camel colored suede. She keeps the focus on the skirt by pairing it with a simple black shirt and matching black studded flats.

This next look is from The Northern Lights and is definitely a good way to transition the piece into fall/winter. Pair a longer variant of the skirt with a chunky sweater and long coat in warm light browns and you’re good to go!

The last look can be found on Eleanor Calder of The Trend Pear, and brings the skirt into the summer. I love the white denim that easily pairs with a tee shirt and sandals.

Topshop: Cord Button Front Midi Skirt

Urban Outfitters: Ecote Scalloped A-Line Suede Skirt

And lastly, here’s my take on the trend:

I was on the look out for one of these skirts for weeks, and one finally came into my work! This one is a darker denim with a tighter fit, and is from Banana Republic.

I began by pairing it with a basic striped tee from H&M, then added this burnt orange blazer which helps transition the piece into fall. I finished the look with a layered necklace from Forever 21 and some of my favorite booties from Target.
